  1. Do you know the difference between RAM and ROM?
  2. Can you identify both good and bad practices regarding the use of computers with respect to health and safety issues?
  3. What exactly is the Information Society?
  4. Explain what a CPU is?
  5. What are the merits and demerits of mouse versus trackerball?

Module 2: Using a Computer and Managing Files

  1. Why should you create directories/folders?
  2. Can you change the shape and size of a window?
  3. How do you look at a folder's properties?
  4. Change the selected printer from an installed list?
  5. Explain the difference between a "system tray" and a "taskbar"?

Module 3: Wordprocessing

  1. Are you able to use hanging indents?
  2. Would you know how to add graphics to your document?
  3. Can you Copy and Paste in the same document? Between documents?
  4. Do you know how to mailmerge?
  5. How do you word-process in a language other than English?

Module 4: Spreadsheets

  1. Are you competent using formulae in spreadsheets?
  2. Do you know how to insert columns and rows?
  3. Can you produce charts from your data?
  4. Can you use formulae that span different sheets? And books?
  5. Can you use: split / freeze panes, cell / sheet / book protection?

Module 5: Databases

  1. Do you know how to filter your data?
  2. Can you modify the records in a database?
  3. What is the difference between Datasheet View and Form View?
  4. Can you build queries?
  5. Can you build data entry / data retrieval forms?

Module 6: Presentation

  1. Can you reorder your slides?
  2. Do you know how to modify a slide layout?
  3. Are you competence to insert organisation charts?
  4. Can you incorporate animations effects in your slide show?
  5. How do you set autoplay on, and sound off?

Module 7: Information and Communication

  1. Can you add an auto-signature to an e-mail message?
  2. Do you know how to bookmark a web page?
  3. What is the accepted definition of a URL?
  4. How do you reply to an e-mail message?
  5. How to minimise 'spamming'?
