Many historic buildings are being destroyed or replaced. What are the reasons for this? What should be done to preserve these buildings?

Nowadays, we hardly see any historic architecture in our place. There are many reasons for the destruction of those places which has to be analyzed and steps should be taken to preserve them.
The significant reason for people to replace the historic buildings is to fit themselves in the modern world. As there are more advancement in technology and more modernization of the society, people started their focus on modern architecture. For example, the bathroom and kitchenwares have changed a lot from the past and so the houses are built accordingly. So people get more opportunity to have their own interior decoration for their house.
With increase in the current land value, men destroy their outfashioned house to either sell it or build apartments to gain profit. This saves their money from unnecessary expenditure on repairing the old buildings. Additionally, the historic monuments are for point of attack for the terrorists to revenge the country. That is the reason for demolition of many temples and ancient buildings in few countries.
Since the buildings are old enough and damaged, it becomes difficult for the owners to manage them and so sell or replace it. In such cases, government can own such buildings and conserve them for the future generations. They can be exhibited for tourists and the income can be used to manage the repairing amount. Also there must be volunteers from the local community to raise fund for the heritage conservation.
Although there are solutions available for the historic conservation, people by themselves with the support of their government should take the responsibility to protect those ancient buildings representing their tradition and culture.

Hello Sara and thanks for your essay.

Generalizations and simplifications

One thing to watch out for in IELTS essays is over-generalization, over-simplification, or inadequate development of ideas. Have a look at the official descriptors under the headings 'Task Response' and 'Coherence and Cohesion'
Your challenge in this essay is to give the main reasons why many older buildings are being demolished in many countries. The obvious answers would be ease of maintenance, investment or property speculation, the desire for a more modern appearance, the decay or collapse or danger posed by poorly maintained old buildings, city-wide development plans, increased population density requiring taller buildings, changes in urban use and zoning, population moves - a long list. It's probably better to give the most obvious ones first. You have indeed given some good answers, but this one is a little unusual:

Additionally, the historic monuments are for point of attack for the terrorists to revenge the country. That is the reason for demolition of many temples and ancient buildings in few countries

Again, on generalization avoid using the word 'men' (Paragraph 3)

With increase in the current land value, men destroy their outfashioned house to either sell it or build apartments to gain profit. This saves their money from unnecessary expenditure on repairing the old buildings.

This could be rewritten:

With the increase in the value of land, developers demolish old-fashioned houses and build newer apartments or offices to gain profit. New construction also avoids the need to spend money repairing old buildings.

Also, But, And, For, So...
Try to avoid using 'also' at the start of a sentence. You can also often leave out "there is\there are":

Also there must be volunteers from the local community to raise fund for the heritage conservation.

This could be rewritten:

Volunteers from the local community can also raise funds to conserve their heritage.

A lot of old building are being demolished these days in oder to create new buildings. Most of old buildings contain the special hisotorical meanings as a part of culture. Therefore, some poeple believe that old builing should be protected from on-going destruction process. This essay will explain the reasons why new builiding are taken place of old builings and the measures to conserve these buildings form disappering.

The biggest reason for demolishing old builiding is its the potential of rasing more money. In some areas, the land value has dramatically increased and the high raised builing has become the one of solutions to effectively use this expensive land. For example, old houses are usually single level and have big graden in the front and back which take up the large land, whereas modern apartment does not have much private place. However, it provides houses for more people and it create better financial return for the developer.

Another cause of the destruction of old places is due to inconvenience of out-dated facilities. Many people prefer new houses with latest household furniture built in. Old houses have some problem itself, such as leaking and craking on the wall. Therefore, construction of new buildings are favorable for some people than repairing of the old houses, since they can be free from these wear and tear problem.

However, historical building should be protected from disappering. Government should acknoweledge the importance of the beutiful old building. Legulation can be established to protect buildings from demolishing and any modifications should acquire permits from the government. This will make the demolishing harder and many house owner will choose to keep the original house.

In conclusion, new builing are replacing the old ones because of its latest design, convenience and capability to house more residents. However, governmnet should aware the importance of preserving the historical building and protect them with strict leguations.

Hello Kim

This essay is well organized and fully developed. You spent a little more time on the reasons why old buildings are being knocked down than on why they should be preserved, but that's OK. It's easy to read and the ideas flow from one to another (this is what is meant in the descriptors for IELTS Task 2 under Coherence and Cohesion).

You have some spelling errors which I won't look at here - you can fix these easily! Here are some small usage and grammar points:

This essay will explain the reasons why new builiding are taken place of old builing.

This essay will explain why new builidings are taking the place of old buildings.

high raised builing => high-rise buildings

Old houses have gardens which take up a large land

Old houses have gardens which take up a lot of land

You have some very good sentences which just need a little work:

Legulation can be established to protect buildings from demolishing and any modifications should acquire permits from the government.

Legislation can be established to protect buildings from being demolished and any modifications should require permits from the government.

Overall, some very good ideas and sentences and a natural feel. Well done.

The government can be a useful tool for conserving old buildings; however, there are other organizations that can also help in this task as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization which provides support to many old buildings and places around the world throught a program named World Heritage. This program grants a title which provides protection and economic support to many buildings and places. Nevertheless, this program has a process, and not all of buildings or places can be part of this program, wo who want to be benefited by this support have to submit many requirements, but they mainly should have representative and unique characteristics in their type. Then, the World Heritage Committee selects or decides if they can be part of the list of World Heritage.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization is interesting in protecting natural o cultural places (including buildings) due to they represent a very important part of our past, and through of them we can understand part of our present and mainly our culture.
