People living in large cities face many problems today. What are these problems? Should the government encourage people to live in small towns or rural areas?
Today, the amount of population in metropolis keeps surging which led to the enormous problems in variety areas. Despite authorities take measures rapidly, the situation is deteriorating. This essay will describe the main problems we are facing in megacities and explain why living in rural areas should be encouraged.
Low salary, high unemployment and traffic problems are caused by the huge population in some large cities. In the background of the undergoing European debt crisis, the economy outlook is pessimistic. The excessive population may intensify the competition among employees and decrease the employment rate. For instance, in my country, looking for a decent job is much harder than the past. Traffic congestion is another negative repercussion appears in the urban territory. The living standard of citizens grows constantly; therefore, individuals have the capacity to purchase private vehicles. However, the ability to accommodate is limited. Be it apartment or house, the majority of residents cannot afford it. The salary, sometimes, just satisfy their fundamental needs for survival.
Encouraging the citizens who return to countryside can relieve these pressures efficiently. Rural housing rate is dramatic lower than the dwellings in urban areas in most countries. There is no need to bother their accommodation any more. In addition, traffic congestion would be relieved if individuals relocate to suburbs. At the meantime, governments are trying to establish the public transportation system to satisfy working and living demands of the residents. Villagers are also able to cultivate crops and vegetables to meet their own requirements. The employment pressure would decline in this regard.
Economic, traffic and living issues are faced by some metropolises, while the situation in the countryside is much better. Most rural territories are underdeveloped and distant. I believe that plenty of opportunities exist in this area as well. As the traffic improved by the authorities, communication between two areas would be convenient. Thus, living in city is not as important as today in the future.
