It's the scariest part of the test for some people….

I am a computer engineer. I am preparing myself for IELTS exam to get better mark. I would like to practise for speaking. I got 6 in speaking section of the previous exam. How can I contact you? When? I can use skype/ yahoo messenger.

Once you are logged in you should be able to see a list of members. You can PM a member (send a Private Message) or you can contact a member if the person has added the details to their profile - click on their profile picture on the left-hand side.

Skype, Yahoo Messenger, Google Chat - there are lots of tools that allow live video. If you prefer to think before speaking, there are also some online video discussion websites and forums: you respond to a topic or conversation and upload when you are ready. You could do this with Youtube by posting video responses: use a smartphone to record and upload.

- Are you using Windows or a version of Linux?
- What browser are you using?
- Is it up to date?
- Are popups blocked on your browser?
- Are you typing in Word? Another program?
- Does a popup window appear when you click the "W" icon?
- What about the "T" icon? You could try using that one as well.
I don't recommend typing directly into the forum – you could lose your work. It's better to type on your computer, save, and then copy-and-paste. Make sure in your word processor program (Word, AbiWord, OpenOffice, etc) that you don't hit Enter at the end of a line. If you type in Notepad, you make have to turn off or turn on Word Wrap (Format, Word Wrap) to get the result you want.
